Colonial Williamsburg Wedding
This Colonial Williamsburg wedding is a challenging one to write about! I have known Wendy for almost 7 years and have had the pleasure of working alongside her for much of that time. If any of my couples are reading this then they are very aware of the power of Wendy. She is one of the hardest working women in the field I know, with talent and humor to boot. Her generous nature, laughter and smile are infectious and she is a loyal friend. Wendy came back into my life a few years ago and indoctrinated me into such an amazing and supportive group of MD women photographers known as AWP, Annapolis Women Photographers (many of whom are the hottie bridesmaids or ladies breaking it down on the dance floor in these pictures).
I still remember where we were when she told me about this woman Liz who was in the wedding party at a wedding Wendy was 2nd shooting…so scandalous! Wendy lit up with excitement as she told me about Liz. A year went by and I still hadn’t met Liz, but from the AWP crowd I knew she was something special because everyone was like “Liz this, Liz that!” Liz, like Wendy, has the power to bring people together who fiercely love her. Then I met Liz and, well, Liz was amazing! I think if Liz ever wanted to be a life coach she would be world renowned because she has the ability to show you so much warmth and caring, even when you’ve only just met. When Wendy asked me to document her day I was so honored and intimidated because, well, she is an amazing wedding photographer and all our mutual friends are stellar photographers, including Brea who second shot this wedding with me.
Wendy and Liz were both escorted down the aisle with their parents at their sides. You could not have asked for a more picturesque setting. They were reading their vows just as the sun was setting. Liz’s best friend was officiating and they had some of their other closest friends as readers. The ceremony was filled with lots of laughter, tears and excitement.
The Reception at Colonial Williamsburg
The reception space was in The Woodlands. After the ceremony on the back patio, guests made their way inside to mingle. The wedding party’s dramatic entrance was proceeded by a very fitting fife and drum performance- AMAZING! I don’t think words can properly express the amount of love that was contained in that room, but it was enormous and moving. But maybe I will just let the images speak for themselves. Congratulations Liz and Wendy, you are two amazing women and I was so honored to take part in your wedding. Thank you!
