Westland Distillery Wedding
I loved this Westland Distillery wedding! I so enjoy getting to know my couples and hear all the details of what they are envisioning for their wedding. These pre-wedding day meeting/coffee dates give us a time to built trust, get connected and forge friendships. Kaila and Zach live in Chicago and their wedding was a chance for their guests to experience a really beautiful location. All of Kaila’s immediate family had moved to Seattle so it was fitting to bring the party here- since whats better than Seattle in the summer?!
I don’t think bridal style could have been more on point! Kaila the beautiful bride runs merchandising for the boutique bridal online retailer Brideside. “Brideside is a bridesmaid dress retailer with a concierge style service. We have created a group shopping experience to seamlessly guide bridal parties through the process. We’re an all women company that loves to celebrate other women’s big moments!” -Kaila. If I could go back in time I would channel Kaila’s style and get married in her boho meets modern bridal dress!
We had planned to do our portraits at the Sculpture Park and at the last minute had to change our locations due to the park closing early. Not an ideal snag for either of our “highly organized personalities” but I felt like the challenge only improved the variety of backdrops we were able to capture, so WIN WIN. Some of my favorite portraits of Kaila and Zach are of them walking on 1st street with the iconic Pike Place sign behind them along with the industrial backdrops of SODO…such couples goals with these two:)
After the Ketubah signing (Kaila’s dad hand painted it- such an artistic family) we made our way into the barrel room. They completely transformed the space at Westland Distillery and I love the DIY hanging florals ceremony backdrop. Kaila and her mom( Stacy) did all the arranging!! The wood gave off an amber hue and the coziness of the space made it feel very intimate. After the ceremony the barrel room was flipped to showcase long farm tables the length of the space with various arrangements covering the tables capes. The overhead twinkle lights worked so well to illuminate and create a lovely space for their toasts and dinner.
Thank you both for including me in your beautiful day!
